DTC U0151:
Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With SRS Unit
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0151 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connection between the gauge control module and the SRS unit.
5. From the system select menu, select SRS.
Does the HDS communicate with the SRS unit?
YES -
Go to step 12.
NO -
Go to step 6.
6. Check for a blown No. 9 (7.5 A) or No. 11 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Replace the fuses and reset. If the fuses blow again, check for a short to ground in the wires between the under-dash fuse/relay box and the SRS unit, and replace the faulty harness.
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, and wait at least 3 minutes.
9. Reconnect the battery negative terminal.
10. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
11. Measure the voltage between body ground and SRS unit connector A (39P) terminals No. 26 and No. 27 individually.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit SRS Unit Replacement.
NO -
Open in the harness; replace the faulty SRS harness.
12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

16. Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 29 and No. 30 and SRS unit connector A (39P) terminals No. 16 and No. 17 respectively.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SRS unit, and recheck. If the indication goes away, replace the original SRS unit SRS Unit Replacement. If the DTC is still present, replace the gauge control module Service and Repair.
NO -
Repair an open or poor connection in the F-CAN wire between the SRS unit and the gauge control module.
