RES disc does not load

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the RES.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped).
- After troubleshooting, enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped).
- Discs with labels should not be used in the DVD player unit (built into the audio unit). They may damage the player mechanism.
- Make sure the CD or DVD is compatible with the system (refer to the Owner's Manual for more information).

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Try loading a disc.

Does the disc load?

YES -

Intermittent failure, the DVD player unit (built into the audio unit) is OK at this time.�

NO -

Go to step 3.

3. Insert a known-good disc.

Does the disc load?

YES -

The original disc is faulty.�

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Remove the No. 17 (20A) fuse from the under-hood fuse relay box for 2 minutes.

6. Reinstall the fuse.

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Enter the audio unit security code.

9. Insert a known-good disc.

Does the disc load?

YES -

Intermittent problem. If the problem reoccurs, replace the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation.�

NO -

Replace the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation.�
