Power Mirror Function Test
NOTE:
- For additional troubleshooting information on the Driving Position Memory System (DPMS), refer to the DPMS section Locations.
- The right power mirror actuator is controlled by the front passenger's power window switch. When the power mirror switch is operated, the power window master switch receives the signals from the power mirror switch and send them to the front passenger's power window switch. So, if there is a malfunction of the right power mirror actuator operation, do the door multiplex control unit (built into the power window master switch) input test Power Mirrors (Power Window Master Switch) Input Test (Without Driving Position Memory System) and front passenger's power window switch input test Power Mirrors (Front Passenger's Power Window Switch) Input Test (Without Driving Position Memory System). Also, the power mirror defoggers are controlled by door multiplex control unit and front passenger's power window switch, do the door multiplex control unit (built into the power window master switch) input test Power Mirrors (Power Window Master Switch) Input Test (Without Driving Position Memory System) and front passenger's power window switch input test Power Mirrors (Front Passenger's Power Window Switch) Input Test (Without Driving Position Memory System).
Left Power Mirror Function Test
1. Remove the power window master switch Power Window Master Switch Replacement.
2. Disconnect the 13P connector from the power mirror switch and 37P connector from the power window master switch.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Measure the voltage between body ground and the terminal No. 2 of the power mirror switch 13P connector with the ignition switch to ON (II). There should be battery voltage.
- If there is no battery voltage, check for:
- Blown No. 36 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
- An open in the YEL wire.
- If there is battery voltage, go to step 5.
5. Check for continuity between the terminal No. 6 and body ground. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, check for:
- An open in the BLK wire.
- Poor ground (G401).
- If there is continuity, go to step 6.
6. Connect the terminals No. 2 and No. 10, and the terminals No. 5 (or No. 12) and No. 6 with jumper wires. The left mirror should tilt down (or swing left) with the ignition switch to ON (II).
- If the left mirror does not tilt down (or does not swing left), check for an open in the GRN (or PUR) wire between the left mirror and the 13P connector. If the wire is OK, check the left mirror actuator.
- If the mirror neither tilts down nor swings left, repair the RED wire.
- If the mirror works properly, check the mirror switch Service and Repair.
