Power Seat Motor Test (With Power Seat)




Power Seat Motor Test

Driver's Seat without DPMS

NOTE:

- SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or servicing.
- For DPMS power seat motor test Driver's Power Seat Motor Test (With DPMS).

1. Remove the driver's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation (USA/Canada).

2. Remove the power seat adjustment switch knobs and the recline cover from the seat Front Seat Recline Cover Removal/Installation.

3. Disconnect the 12P connector (A) from the power seat adjustment switch (B).






4. At the 12P connector of the driver's seat wire harness side, test the motor by applying battery power and ground to the terminals according to the table.

Slide motor:





Recline motor:





Front up-down motor:





Rear up-down motor:





5. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, go to step 6.

6. Disconnect the 6P or 8P connector from each motor.






7. Check for continuity between each motor 6P or 8P connector and the driver's seat wire harness 12P connector. If there is continuity, replace the appropriate motor.

NOTE: The front and rear up-down motors are part of the seat frame Front Seat Frame Replacement.


















Front Passenger's Seat

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or servicing.

1. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation (USA/Canada).

2. Remove the power seat adjustment switch knobs and the recline cover from the seat Front Seat Recline Cover Removal/Installation.

3. Disconnect the 12P connector (A) from the power seat adjustment switch (B).






4. At the 12P connector of the front passenger's seat wire harness side, test the motor by applying battery power and ground to the terminals according to the table.

Slide motor:





Recline motor:





5. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, go to step 6.

6. Disconnect the 5P and 6P connector from each motor.






7. Check for continuity between each motor 5P or 6P connector and the front passenger's seat wire harness 12P connector. If there is continuity, replace the appropriate motor.
