Third Row Seat Belt Replacement

Third Row Seat Belt

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the third row seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary.

1. Remove these items:

- Rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area
- D-pillar trim

2. Remove the upper anchor bolt (A).






3. Remove the retractor mounting bolt (A) and the retractor bolt (B), then remove the third row seat belt (C) and retractor (D).






4. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions as described.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque with a torque wrench.
- Assemble the washers, the collar, and the bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
- Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.

Center Third Row Seat Belt

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the third row seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary.

1. Remove the headliner Service and Repair.

2. Remove the bolts (A) and the screw (B), then remove the third row seat belt cover bracket (C).






3. Remove the center upper anchor mounting bolt (A), then remove the center upper anchor (B).






4. Remove the retractor mounting bolt (A) and retractor bolt (B), then remove the retractor (C).






5. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions as described.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Assemble the washers, the collars, and the bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
- Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque with a torque wrench.

Seat Belt Buckle/Center Seat Belt Detachable Anchor

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the third row seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary.
- The seat belt buckle is shown. The seat belt detachable anchor is similar.

1. Fold down the left third row seat.

2. Remove the cargo floor box Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Cargo Area.

3. Remove the center anchor bolts (A).






4. Release the hooks (A), then remove the seat belt buckle pocket (B).





5. Remove the left third row seat belt buckle (C) and center third row seat belt detachable anchor (D) from the seat cushion.

6. Install the buckle and detachable anchor in the reverse order of removal. Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.

Right Seat Belt Buckle/Left Seat Belt Detachable Anchor

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the third row seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary.
- The seat belt buckle is shown. The seat belt detachable anchor is similar.

1. Remove the third row seat Third Row Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the screw (A) and release the hook (B), then remove the bracket cover (C).






3. Remove the center anchor bolt (A), then remove the seat belt buckle (B).






4. Install the buckle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Assemble the washers, the spring, the bushing, the bracket, and the collar on the center anchor bolt as shown.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.
