Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair




Rear Door Glass, Quarter Glass, and Regulator Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the door panel Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the power door lock actuator connector (A), and detach the harness clips (B). Remove the plug caps (C).





3. Pass the cables (D) and the harnesses (E) through the slits (F) in the plastic cover (G), then remove the plastic cover.

NOTE: If the plastic cover is damaged or torn, replace it.

4. Carefully move the glass (A) until you can see the bolts, then remove them. Carefully lower the glass. Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.






5. Remove the bolts (A, B) and collar (C) from the center lower channel (D). Pull the door quarter glass seal (E) away as needed, and remove the screw (F). Pull the glass run channel (G) away as needed from the center lower channel.






6. Pull the upper portion of the center lower channel (A) forward to remove it from the door quarter glass seal (B), and pull up the center lower channel through the window slot. Take care not to scratch the door, or damage the door quarter glass seal.










7. Remove the door quarter glass (A) and the seal (B) as an assembly from the door.










8. Carefully remove the glass (A) out through the window slot. Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.






9. Disconnect the connector (A) from the regulator (B).





10. Remove the bolts (C), and loosen the bolt (D), then remove the regulator through the hole in the door.

11. Apply multipurpose grease to all the sliding surfaces of the regulator (A) where shown.





12. Install the glass and regulator in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Roll the glass up and down to make sure it moves freely without binding.
- Make sure that there is no clearance between the glass and glass run channel when the glass is closed.
- Adjust the position of the glass as necessary Adjustments.
- Do the power window control unit reset procedure Testing and Inspection.
- Check for water leaks.
- Test-drive, and check for wind noise and rattles.
- When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
- Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
- Make sure the power door lock operates properly.
