DTC Troubleshooting: B1275, B1276, B1278

DTC B1275:

Headlight Switch OFF Position Circuit Malfunction

DTC B1276:

Headlight Switch Parking Position Circuit Malfunction

DTC B1278:

Headlight Switch ON Position Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Operate each combination light switch position for more than 2 seconds, then turn the combination light switch OFF.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are DTCs B1275, B1276, and/or B1278 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.�

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Do the headlight switch test Service and Repair and check for open or short in the headlight switch terminals in each switch position.

Is the headlight switch OK?

YES -

Faulty combination switch control unit, replace the combination switch Service and Repair.�

NO -

Replace the headlight switch Service and Repair.�
