VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 134
DTC 134:
Steering Angle Sensor (Software)
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 86 indicated with DTC 134?
YES -
Do the troubleshooting for DTC 86 86, and recheck.�
NO -
Go to step 3.
3. Put the vehicle on a level surface, and center the steering wheel spokes.
4. Check the STEERING ANGLE in the VSA DATA LIST with the HDS.
With the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, is STEERING ANGLE within ±5 °?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Check the installation of the steering angle sensor. If it is OK, do the steering angle sensor center point writing.�
5. Check the wheel alignment Service and Repair.
Is the wheel alignment within the specification?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Make sure the suspension is not modified, and adjust the wheel alignment correctly, and recheck by test-driving.�
6. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Test-drive the vehicle around a number of corners.
NOTE: Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.
9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 134 indicated?
YES -
Replace the VSA modulator-control unit Service and Repair.�
NO -
Intermittent failure; the most probable cause is that the vehicle has driven on an extremely slanted road. The system is OK at this time.�
