Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting - Navigation cannot control HVAC by voice command

Navigation cannot control HVAC with voice command

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Check for and resolve all CAN DTCs before troubleshooting the navigation system.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and navigation system.
- After troubleshooting, enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and navigation system.
- Verify that the correct navigation unit is installed for this model. Go into the Diagnostic mode and use Version.
- Make sure that the correct navigation DVD color and version are installed.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Check the navigation system function.

Does the navigation system function normally in all other aspects of operation?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Refer to the navigation symptom troubleshooting. Resolve any other problems and then retest the system function.�

3. Check the HVAC system function.

Does the HVAC system function normally in all other aspects of operation?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Refer to HVAC symptom troubleshooting. Resolve any other problems, then retest the system function.�

4. Go into the navigation diagnostic mode, then select Navi System Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.

Is the Air-con icon and link red?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Substitute a known-good climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation, navigation control unit and navigation display control unit one at a time, in this order. Retest the system function after each unit substitution until the problem is resolved, then replace the malfunctioning unit.�

5. Disconnect climate control unit connector (30P) and navigation unit connector B (32P).

6. Check for continuity between climate control unit 30P connector terminals and navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals according to the table.









Is there continuity on all wires?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between climate control unit and navigation unit connector.�

7. Check for continuity between each wire in the navigation unit connector B (32P) according to the table.









Is the continuity to any other wire?

YES -

Repair a short in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the navigation unit.�

NO -

Go to step 8.

8. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals according to the table.









Is there continuity to ground on any wire?

YES -

Repair a short in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the body ground, also repair a short in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the climate control unit.�

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

10. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals according to the table.









Is there more than 0.2 V to ground on any wire?

YES -

Repair a short to power on the affected wire(s).�

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Substitute a known-good climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation. Reconnect all connectors, and recheck.

Does the symptom go away?

YES -

Replace the original climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.�

NO -

Replace the navigation unit Service and Repair.�
