Speaker Test/Replacement
Front Door Speaker
1. Remove the front door panel Service and Repair.
2. Pull the speaker (A) straight out, just enough to release the upper clips. Then lift the speaker straight up to release the lower clips (B).
NOTICE
If you pull the speaker out too far from the door, you will damage the lower clips.
3. Disconnect the 2P connector (C), and remove the speaker.
4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 4 Ohms.
5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.
6. Install the speaker in the reverse order of removal.
Rear Door Speaker
1. Remove the rear door panel Service and Repair.
2. Pull the speaker (A) straight out, just enough to release the upper clips. Then lift the speaker straight up to release the lower clips (B).
NOTICE
If you pull the speaker out too far from the door, you will damage the lower clips.
3. Disconnect the 2P connector (C), and remove the speaker.
4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 4 Ohms.
5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.
6. Install the speaker in the reverse order of removal.
Tweeter
1. Carefully pry the tweeter grille (A) out of the dashboard. Be careful not to damage the tweeter grille and the dashboard.
2. Disconnect the 2P connector (B) from the tweeter.
3. Remove the tweeter speaker (A) from the speaker grille (B).
4. Check the capacitor (C) condition. If any damage is found, replace the tweeter.
5. Measure the resistance between the tweeter (A) terminal No. 2 and the outside terminal of the capacitor. There should be about 4 Ohms.
6. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the tweeter.
7. Install the tweeter in the reverse order of removal.
Subwoofer
1. Remove the rear panel insulator Rear Panel Insulator Replacement.
2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A). Remove the bolts (B) and the subwoofer (C).
3. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.
4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the subwoofer.
5. Install the subwoofer in the reverse order of removal.
