Front Bumper: Service and Repair
Front Bumper Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the front bumper.
- Take care not to scratch the front bumper or the body.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1. Remove the front bulkhead cover Front Bulkhead Cover Replacement.
2. Remove the front bumper (A).
1. Remove the clip (B).
2. Remove the bolts (C, D) securing the front bumper, the front inner fender (E), and the splash shield (F).
3. Remove the screws (G, H), then pull the wheel arch portions of the bumper outward to release the bumper from the hooks (I) on the side spacers (J).
4. With the help of an assistant, pull the bumper forward to release the hooks (K) from both corner upper beams (L).
5. Disconnect the front fog light connector (M) (for some models) and the daytime running light connector (N).
6. Remove the clips (O), then remove the front bumper absorber (P).
3. Install the bumper in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the front fog light connectors (for some models) and the daytime running light connectors are plugged in properly.
- Make sure the front bumper engages the hooks (on both corner upper beams and the side spacers) on each side securely.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
