Hood Latch Release: Service and Repair

Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.

1. Remove these items:

- Front bumper Service and Repair
- Front inner fender, left side as needed Front Inner Fender Replacement
- Kick panel, left side Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) Service and Repair.





3. Remove the bolts (C), then remove the hood release handle (D).

4. Detach the clips (E, F) with a clip remover, and remove the grommet (G) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to kink the cable.

5. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and replace any damaged clips.
