Gap Between the Front Bumper and the Fender/Headlight (Supersedes 09-083, dated November 7, 2009, to revise the information marked by the black bars)
*REVISION SUMMARY
In Applies To, some 2010 Ridgelines were added. The SYMPTOM, PROBABLE CAUSE, CORRRECTIVE ACTION, PARTS INFORMATION, and REPAIR PROCEDURE were changed to accommodate the front bumper side spacers.
SYMPTOM
There's a large gap between the front bumper and both the fender and headlight, or the bumper will not stay secured in the side clip.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The front fender is not adjusted properly, or the side spacer clip strength is too low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Remove the front bumper, adjust the lower fender support, and install new spacers.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the clips, then remove the air intake duct.
2. Remove the front bulkhead cover: Remove the clips, release the side edges of the cover from the front fenders on both sides, and pass the hood latch knob through the hole in the cover.
3. Remove the clip, and the bolts securing the front bumper, the front inner fender, and the splash shield.
4. Remove the screws, then pull the wheel arch portions of the bumper outward to release the bumper from the hooks on the side spacers.
5. With the help of an assistant, pull the bumper forward to release the hooks from both corner upper beams.
6. Disconnect the front fog light connector (if equipped) and the daytime running light connector.
7. Remove the front bumper side spacer on each side (two screws and one clip).
8. Loosen the two bolts from the lower fender support.
9. Pry up on the lower fender support while tightening the bolts.
10. Paint the bare surface underneath the bolt head on the lower fender support with touch-up paint.
*11. Reinstall the front bumper with the new side spacers, and check the gap and alignment.*
