Power Mirror Actuator Test
Power Mirror Actuator Test
NOTE: The power mirror actuator can be tested by using the HDS by following these steps:
- Select BODY ELECTRICAL from the menu.
- Select FUNCTION TESTS, and then the appropriate power mirror function test.
1. Remove the door panel Service and Repair and the mirror mount cover Power Mirror Replacement.
2. Disconnect the 8P connector (A) from the power mirror actuator (B).
3. Check actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table.
4. If the mirror fails to work properly, replace the mirror actuator Service and Repair.
Defogger Test
NOTE: When testing for defogger function, holding a cup of hot water near the mirror glass will form steam that can assist in diagnosing a broken or under-performing defogger.
5. Reconnect the 8P connector to the mirror actuator, turn the ignition switch to ON (II) and the mirror defogger switch to ON.
6. Measure the voltage between 8P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3. There should be battery voltage. If there is no voltage, check for an open or high resistance in the wire. If voltage is as specified and the mirror fails to warm up, replace the mirror defoggers.
