Beverage Holder Tabs Are Torn or Broken

SYMPTOM

The foam rubber tabs in the front center console beverage holder are torn or broken.

NOTE:
Beverage holder tabs damaged by cigarette burns or other types of abuse or misuse are not covered under warranty.

PROBABLE CAUSE

This condition is caused by normal wear and tear.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the beverage holder tab assembly.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the center console:

^ Refer to the Body section of the appropriate service manual, or

^ Online, enter keyword CONSOLE, and select Center Console Removal/Installation from the list.





2. Secure the beverage holder lever in the open position with a rubber band.





3. Set the center console on its back. Using two flat-tip screwdrivers, press the hook tabs on both sides to release the beverage holder, then pull the beverage holder out of the console assembly.





4. Remove the six Torx screws to separate the upper and lower halves of the beverage holder.





5. Replace the beverage holder tab assembly.

6. Reassemble the upper and lower beverage holder halves.

7. Reinstall the beverage holder tray into the center console.

8. Reinstall the center console.
