Warm Up TWC Removal/Installation

FRONT

1. Disconnect the motor connectors, the ECT sensor 2 connector, and the harness connector, then remove the harness clamps.

2. Remove the A/C condenser fan assembly.

NOTE: Place an appropriate sized piece of cardboard over the A/C condenser fan area of the radiator to protect the radiator.

3. Remove the No. 2 ignition coil and the ignition coil heat insulator.

4. Remove the front A/F sensor (Sensor 1) A/F Sensor Replacement and the front secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) Secondary HO2S Replacement.

5. Remove the exhaust pipe A mounting nuts (front WU-TWC side) Service and Repair.

6. Remove the EGR pipe Service and Repair.

7. Remove the bracket (A), then carefully remove the front WU-TWC (B).





8. Remove the covers (C) from the front WU-TWC.

9. Carefully install the front WU-TWC with a new gasket (D) and new self-locking nuts (E). Tighten the nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps.

10. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

REAR

1. Remove the rear A/F sensor (Sensor 1) A/F Sensor Replacement and the rear secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) Secondary HO2S Replacement.

2. Remove exhaust pipe A Service and Repair.

3. Remove the rear WU-TWC bracket, then remove the intermediate shaft Intermediate Shaft Removal.

4. Remove the rear WU-TWC (A).





5. Remove the covers (B) from the rear WU-TWC.

6. Install the rear WU-TWC with a new gasket (C) and new self-locking nuts (D). Tighten the nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps.

7. Install the intermediate shaft and the rear WU-TWC bracket Intermediate Shaft Installation.

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
