Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
NOTE: If replacing the front passenger's airbag after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment Service and Repair for a complete list of other parts that must be replaced.
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation.
3. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag 4P connector (A) from the dashboard wire harness.
4. Remove the three mounting nuts (A) from the bracket. Cover the lid and dashboard with a cloth, and pry carefully with a screwdriver to lift the front passenger's airbag (B) out of the dashboard.
NOTE: The airbag lid has pawls on each side which attach it to the dashboard.
Installation
1. Place the front passenger's airbag (A) into the dashboard. Tighten the front passenger's airbag mounting nuts (B).
2. Connect the front passenger's airbag 4P connector (A) to the dashboard wire harness, then reinstall the glove box.
3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.
4. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
5. After installing the airbag, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), check that the SRS indicator should comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
