Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly/Reassembly
Special Tools Required
- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014
*Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program; 888-424-6857
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Removal/Installation.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Instrument panel Instrument Panel Removal/Installation
- Gauge control module Service and Repair
- Audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation
- GPS antenna, with navigation system Service and Repair
- Navigation display unit, with navigation system Service and Repair
- Passenger's airbag Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
- Sunlight sensor, with climate control Service and Repair
3. From the back of the dashboard, detach the harness clips (A), and disconnect the glove box light connector (B).
4. From the back of the dashboard, disconnect the auxiliary jack assembly connector (A) and the in-bed trunk lid opener main switch connector (B).
5. From the back of the dashboard, detach the tweeter harness clip (A).

6. From the back of the dashboard, remove the screws.
7. Slide the defogger duct (A), and remove the passenger's A/C duct (B).
8. Remove the defogger duct (A) and the driver's A/C duct (B), then detach the sunlight sensor harness clip (C).
9. Remove the screws (A, B), then separate the dashboard (C) from the steering hanger beam (D).
10. Reassemble the beam in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
