Front Stabilizer Bar Replacement

- Engine Support Hanger, A and Reds AAR-T1256
- Front Subframe Adapter EQS02BMDXSB0
- 2008 V6 Attachment Arm SIL02C000033

1. Raise and support the vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the front wheels.
3. Remove the connector bracket (A) from the front cylinder head; use the bracket bolt hole to attach the engine hanger balance bar front arm.
4. Remove the harness clamp bracket (A) from the rear cylinder head; use the bracket bolt hole to attach the 2008 V6 attachment arm (SIL02C000033).
5. Remove the service caps (A) for the front damper flange nuts from the cowl cover (B). Position the engine hanger adapters (VSB02C000024) with the "FRONT" mark facing forward over the damper flange nuts.
6. Install the engine hanger balance bar (VSB02C000019). Attach the front arm (A) to the front cylinder head with a spacer (B) and a 10 x 1.25 mm bolt (C). Remove the rear arm from the balance bar, then install the 2008 V6 attachment arm (SIL02C000033). Attach the 2008 V6 attachment arm to the rear cylinder head with an 8 x 1.25 mm bolt (D).
7. Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the engine hanger balance bar. Tighten the wing nut (E) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission.
NOTE: Be careful when working around the windshield.
8. Disconnect both sides of the stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar Front Stabilizer Link Removal/Installation.
9. Remove the front splash shield Front Splash Shield Replacement.
10. Loosen the four bolts (A) holding the adjustable arms (B) of the front subframe adapter (EQS02BMDXSB0) to its center plate.
NOTE: The adapter is designed to be used the Honda transmission jack (model number LSL-W93714) or powertrain lift (model number OTC-1585), both available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program. It will also work with most commercially available transmission jacks.
11. Line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, then attach the subframe adapter (EQS02BMDXB0) to the jack base with the bolts (A) that came with the jack. Tighten the bolts securely.
12. Raise the jack to the vehicle height, then attach the front subframe adapter to the front subframe using the subframe stiffener mounting bolts (B) and bolt holes.
13. Remove the 12 mm flange bolts (A) on both sides of the front subframe front bracket (B).
14. Loosen the 14 mm flange bolts (C) on both sides of the front suspension subframe so they are about 14 mm (0.6 in) from the mounting surface. Do not loosen the 14 mm flange bolts more than necessary.
15. Support the front suspension subframe securely by raising the transmission jack, then remove the 10 mm flange bolts (A), the nuts (B), and the subframe bolt retainers (C) on both sides of the front suspension subframe rear brackets (D).
16. Remove the 12 mm flange bolts (E), 14 mm special bolts (F) on both sides of the front suspension subframe rear brackets.
17. Lower the jack supporting the front suspension subframe with the special tool slowly until the front suspension subframe has dropped about 14 mm(0.6 in).
18. Remove the flange bolts (A) and the bushing holders (B), then remove the bushings (C) and the stabilizer bar (D) from the front suspension subframe (E).
19. Install the stabilizer bar in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Note the right and left direction of the stabilizer bar.
- Align the paint marks (F) on the stabilizer bar with the sides of the bushings.
- Note the fore/aft direction of the bushing holders.
- Raise the front suspension subframe up with the jack and special tool until it contacts the body frame, then tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
- Refer to stabilizer link removal/installation to connect the stabilizer bar to the links Front Stabilizer Link Removal/Installation.
- Do the subframe alignment.
- Clean the mating surface of the brake disc and the inside of the wheel, then install the front wheel.
20. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary Service and Repair.
