A/C Blows Warm or Hot
SYMPTOM
The A/C blows warm or hot air when the temperature control dial appears to be in the "full cold" position.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The temperature control dial was forcefully rotated past the full cold position, breaking the dial's internal mechanical stop and causing the HVAC control unit to respond as if the dial were in full hot position.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the HVAC control unit with an updated unit, which has a more durable design.
NOTE
If the vehicle is out of warranty, the customer does not have to buy a new control unit and dial The control unit will work properly if the dial is not rotated past full cold

DIAGNOSIS
1. Rotate the temperature control dial counterclockwise to the full cold position.
Does the temperature control dial rotate past the full cold position?
Yes Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No This service bulletin does not apply, continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
^ Take care not to scratch the dashboard or any related parts.
^ Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Tilt the steering column down.
2. Lower the shift lever.
3. Pry upon the lower edge of the instrument panel at the notches to detach the clips.
4. Detach the clips along the edges of the instrument panel. Gently pull out the instrument panel to detach the clips and release the hooks. Then release the instrument panel from the guide hooks of the gauge control module.
5. Disconnect the following switch connectors:
^ Cargo area light
^ Illumination
^ Moonroof
^ VTM-4 lock
^ Trip meter select/reset
^ Interior light
^ HVAC control unit
6. Remove the self4apping screws and the HVAC control unit.
7. Install the new HVAC control unit.
8. Reinstall the instrument panel.
NOTE:
^ Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
^ If any clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
^ Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
