Key Interlock Solenoid Test
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or servicing.
1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation.
2. Remove the steering column covers.
3. Disconnect the steering lock assembly 6P connector.
4. Insert the ignition key in the key cylinder, then turn the ignition key to ACCESSORY (I).
5. Connect power to steering lock assembly 6P connector terminal No. 4, and ground to steering lock assembly 6P connector terminal No. 3. Make sure that the ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK (0) position. Disconnect power and make sure that the key can be turned to LOCK (0) position and removed it from the key cylinder.
6. If the key interlock solenoid works improperly, faulty key interlock solenoid; replace the steering lock Service and Repair.
