Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

EVAP Control System:

PURPOSE

Used to control vacuum to the EVAP Purge Control Diaphragm Valve.

OPERATION

The Purge Control Solenoid Valve is energized by the Engine Control Module (ECM) when the coolant temperature warms above 158°F (70°C) and the throttle is between idle and full throttle positions.
