Fuel Pressure Regulator: Description and Operation
Fuel Pressure Regulator:
PURPOSE
The Fuel Pressure Regulator monitors the intake manifold pressure (manifold vacuum) and uses this information to maintains constant fuel pressure for the Fuel Injectors.
OPERATION
The Fuel Pressure Regulator monitors the intake manifold pressure (manifold vacuum) as long as the difference between manifold pressure and fuel system pressure is less than 3.0 kg/cm2 (43 psi) the valve remains closed. When the difference exceeds 3.0 kg/cm2 (43 psi), the valve opens and the excess fuel is fed through the fuel return line back into the Fuel Tank.
