Fuel Rail: Description and Operation


Fuel Rail:





PURPOSE
The Fuel Rail, bolted to the intake manifold just beside the cylinder head, delivers pressurized fuel to the injectors.

OPERATION
The fuel line, injectors, and the fuel pressure regulator are all connected to the fuel rail. When pressurized, fuel is fed into one end of the Fuel Rail, the injectors are mounted along the side, and the pressure regulator is mounted to the other side, this arrangement maintains a constant equal pressure to each injector.
