Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair

FLUID CHANGE
1. Bring the transmission up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on) by driving the car. Park the vehicle on level ground, turn the engine off, and then remove the drain plug.
2. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer, then refill the transmission with the recommended fluid to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Automatic Transmission Fluid Capacity:
- 2.4 l (2.5 US qt.) at changing
- 6.0 l (6.3 US qt.) at overhaul

NOTE: Always use Genuine Honda Premium Formula Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), or dextron II/III. Using a non-Honda ATF can affect shift quality. See TSB 9002006 2/90.
