Piston Ring: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: After installing a new set of rings, measure the ring-to groove clearances:
^ Top Ring Clearance
- Standard (New): 0.045-0.075 mm (0.0018-0.0030 inch)
- Service Limit: 0.145 mm (0.0057 inch)
^ Second Ring Clearance
- Standard (New): 0.060-0.090 mm (0.0024-0.0035 inch)
- Service Limit: 0.160 mm (0.0063 inch)
