Throttle Valve Solenoid: Service and Repair

LINEAR SOLENOID/THROTTLE VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

NOTE: The linear solenoid/throttle valve body must be replaced as an assembly.





1. Remove the mounting bolts and the linear solenoid/throttle valve body assembly.
2. Check that throttle valve body passage for dust or dirt, and replace as an assembly, if necessary.
3. Clean the mounting surface and fluid passages of the throttle valve body.
4. Install a new linear solenoid/throttle valve body assembly with a new gasket and new C-rings.
5. Check the connector for rust, dirt or oil, then connect the connector securely.

LINEAR SOLENOID/THROTTLE VALVE BODY 0-RING REPLACEMENT

NOTE: If ATF leaks from between the linear solenoid and throttle valve body, separate the linear solenoid and the throttle valve body, replace the 0-ring.





1. Remove the linear solenoid from the throttle valve body.
2. Replace the 0-ring with a new one.
3. Clean the mounting surface and fluid passages of the linear solenoid and throttle valve body.
4. Install the linear solenoid on the throttle valve body.

NOTE: The linear solenoid and the throttle valve body cannot be replaced individually.
