Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation
MoonroofHow the Circuit Works
2-door
The moonroof is controlled by the moonroof control unit, moonroof switch, and the MICU. The moonroof control unit contains the moon roof close relay, moonroof open relay, moonroof motor and the CPU.
The MICU supplies power to the CPU and moonroof switch. Battery voltage is supplied at all times through fuse 28 to the moon roof open and moonroof close relays. The CPU uses input from the moonroof switch in order to provide ground for the relays. When one of the relays is energized, battery voltage is provided to the moonroof motor. In this condition, the other relay provides a path to ground for the moon roof motor. The CPU and relays are grounded at G501.
4-door
The moonroof is controlled by the moonroof switch, moonroof limit switch, moonroof open relay, moonroof close relay, and the MICU.
The MICU supplies power to the moonroof open and moonroof close relay coils. Battery voltage is supplied at all times through fuse 28 to the moonroof open and moonroof close relay contacts. The moonroof switch, along with the moon roof limit switch, provides a path to ground for the relays. When one of the relays is energized, battery voltage is provided to the moonroof motor. In this condition, the other relay provides a path to ground for the moon roof motor. The moon roof switch and relays are grounded at G501.
