Steering Wheel Downshift (-) Switch Test
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the steering wheel.
2. Check the steering wheel downshift (-) switch for continuity between cable reel subharness 13P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 2.
There should be continuity while pressing the steering wheel downshift (-) switch, and no continuity when the switch is released.





3. The steering wheel downshift (-) switch test has finished if the test result is OK.
If the switch tests incorrectly at the 13P connector, test the switch at the switch connector.
4. Remove the steering wheel downshift (-) switch connector from its holder, end disconnect the connector.





5. Check the steering wheel downshift (-) switch for continuity between the switch connector terminals while pressing the steering wheel downshift (-) switch and when the switch is released.
There should be continuity while pressing the steering wheel downshift (-) switch, and no continuity when the switch is released.
6. Replace the steering wheel downshift (-) switch if the switch works incorrectly.
7. Replace the cable reel subharness if the switch is OK.
