Seat belt disassembly tool 07AAF-SNAA150
SRS components are located in this are (A) Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE: Check the front seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary. Be careful not to damage them during removal and installation.
Front Seat Belt -Driver's
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system, then write down the audio presets.
2. Slide the front seat forward fully.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
4. Detach the hooks (A), and release the hooks (B), then remove the B-pillar lower trim cover (C).
5. Remove the left B-pillar lower trim.
6. Disconnect the driver's lap belt tensioner connector (A), and remove the lower anchor bolt (B), then remove the lap tensioner (C).
7. Remove the upper anchor cover (A), and remove the upper anchor bolt (B).
8. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner connector (A). Remove the upper retractor mounting self-tapping ET screw (B), and the lower retractor bolt (C), then remove the front seat belt (D) and retractor (E).
9. If necessary, remove the left B-pillar lower seal (F).
10. Remove the left B-pillar upper trim.
11. Remove the shoulder anchor adjuster (A).
12. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque.
- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions.
- Assemble the washers, collars, and bushings on the upper and lower anchor bolts as shown.
- If the threads on a retractor mounting self-tapping ET screw are worn out, use an oversized self-tapping ET screw, P/N 90133-SZ4-003, made specifically for this application.
- If the seat belt tensioner has been deployed, replace the B-pillar lower seal with a new one.
- Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
- Make sure the seat belt tensioner connector and the lap belt tensioner connector are plugged in properly.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system, then enter the audio presets.
- Set the clock.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
Front Seat Belt-Passenger's
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system, then write down the audio presets.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Slide the front seat forward fully.
4. Slowly insert the seat belt disassembly tool plate into holes (A) in the back of the lap connector cover (B).
NOTE: Make sure the seat belt disassembly tool plate is perpendicular to the lap connector cover.
5. With the seat belt disassembly tool plate still inserted in the lap connector cover (A), carefully insert the seat belt disassembly tool pin into the hole in the lap connector cover, and unlock the lap connector by pushing in on the pin.
6. While pulling the front seat belt (A) upward, remove the seat belt disassembly tool pin. As soon as you remove the pin from the lap connector (B), the anchor connector (C) will come off the lap connector.
7. Remove the right B- pillar lower trim.
8. Remove the upper anchor cover (A), and remove the upper anchor bolt (B).
9. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner connector (A). Remove the upper retractor mounting self-tapping ET screw (B), and the lower retractor bolt (C), then remove the front seat belt (D) and retractor (E).
10. If necessary, remove the right B-pillar lower seal (F).
11. Remove the right B-pillar upper trim.
12. Remove the shoulder anchor adjuster (A).
13. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque.
- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions.
- Assemble the washer, collar, and bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
- If the threads on a retractor mounting self-tapping ET screw are worn out, use an oversized self-tapping ET screw, P/N 90133-SZ4-003, made specifically for this application.
- If the seat belt tensioner has been deployed, replace the B-pillar lower seal with a new one.

- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system, then enter the audio presets.
- Set the clock.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
Seat Belt Buckle
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove the front seat:
- Driver's seat
- Passenger's seat
3. Remove the center cover from the seat.
4. Detach the seat belt switch connector (A).
5. Remove the center anchor bolt (A), and detach the harness clip(s) (B), then remove the seat belt buckle (C).
6. Pull the seat belt switch harness (D) out through the hole space, between the passenger's or driver's seat cushion and seat linkage, located on the seat track.
7. Install the buckle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Assemble the washers on the center anchor bolt as shown.
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolt by hand first, then tighten to the specification with a torque wrench.
- Passenger's seat: Route the seat belt switch harness (A) over the middle of the wire (B) on the seat linkage properly.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system, then enter the audio presets.
- Set the clock.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
Passenger's Lap Belt Tensioner
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system, and then write down the audio presets.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove the front seat.
4. Remove the recline cover.
5. Detach the lap belt tensioner connector (A) from the seat linkage.
6. Pull out the seat weight sensor rail cover cap (A) to release the hooks (B), and remove the cap by pulling it up.
7. Release the rear clip (A). Pull the front of the outer seat weight sensor rail cover (B) up to detach the clip (C) and front hook (D).
8. While slightly pulling the front of the cover away from the seat track, gently slide the front seat forward fully. Taking care not to scratch the cover.
9. Release the rear tab (A), then remove the outer seat weight sensor rail cover (B).
10. Remove the passenger's lap belt tensioner (A).
11. Install the lap belt tensioner in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Assemble the washers and collar on the lower anchor bolt as shown.
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Be sure the front of the lap belt tensioner (A) lies between the steps of the bracket (B) correctly.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specification with a torque wrench.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system, and then enter the audio presets.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
- Set the clock.
