REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code(s) for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped). Then write down the presets for the XM satellite radio (if equipped).

2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

3. Remove the front passenger's seat:

^ Refer to page 20-181 of the 2008-2009 Accord Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keyword FRONT SEAT REM, and select Front Seat Removal/Installation from the list.

4. Remove the passenger's seat belt anchor plate from the seat.

5. Remove the recline knob and the screw, gently pull out on the recline cover, then detach the clips, tabs, and release the hooks from the seat.

6. While releasing the tabs, disengage the hooks from the rear outer weight sensor cover, then remove the front outer weight sensor cover.

7. Release the tabs, then remove the front inner weight sensor cover.

8. Using a T40 TORX bit, loosen the six bolts holding the weight sensor bracket to the lower seat frame.

9. Reinstall the seat in the vehicle and hand-tighten the seat bolts.

10. Push the seat track inward, and mark the position of the TORX bolt head on the outer seat track.

11. Pull the seat track outward, and mark the position of the TORX bolt head.

12. Center the bolt between the two marks you just made, then torque the bolt to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).

13. Repeat steps 11 thru 12 on the inner seat track. Then torque the remaining weight sensor mounting bolts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).

14. Reinstall all removed parts. Then torque the seat bolts to 41 Nm (30 lb-ft).

15. Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery. Then do the ODS unit operation check. If needed, calibrate the ODS unit.
