REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the screw securing the inner handle.
2. Remove the grip cover:
^ Using a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, pry out the front bottom edge of the cover, while pushing up the hooks.
^ From front to rear, pry out along the edge of the cover to release the hooks from the power window switch panel.
^ Release the rear hook by pulling the cover forward.
3. Disconnect the power window switch connector, then remove the screw from the grip base.
4. Apply protective tape to the door panel as shown.
5. Pull the inner handle forward and out halfway to release the hooks.
6. Starting at the bottom edge of the door panel, release the clips that are just above the marks on the edge of the door panel with a commercially available trim pad remover.
7. Detach the rest of the clips.
8. Starting at the rear, pull the door panel up.
NOTE:
Do not pull the door panel up too far, or it will be damaged by the inner handle.
9. Remove the door panel while pulling the inner handle out through the hole in the door panel.
10. If equipped, disconnect the power door lock actuator connector, and detach the harness clips.
11. Remove the plug caps. Pass the wire harness through the slit in the plastic cover, then remove the plastic cover.
12. Carefully raise the glass until you can see the window bolts, then remove them. Carefully pull the glass through the window slot.
13. Disconnect the connector from the window regulator.
14. Remove the bolts, release the hooks, then remove the regulator through the hole in the door.
15. Install the new window regulator, making sure all five bolts are installed. Torque the bolts to 9.8 N.m (7.2 lb-ft).
16. Apply multipurpose grease to all the sliding surfaces of the regulator as shown.
17. Reconnect the connector to the regulator.
18. Reinstall the window door glass, and adjust as needed. Torque the bolts to 9.8 N.m (7.2 lb-ft).
19. Reinstall the plastic cover, the plug caps, the power door lock actuator connector (if equipped), and the door panel.
20. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
21. Press and hold the driver's window DOWN switch.
22. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
23. Release the driver's window DOWN switch.
24. Repeat steps 20 through 23 three more times.
25. Check if the AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN functions still work.
^ If they still work, AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN functions have not been cleared; go back to step 20.
^ If they do not, go to step 26.
26. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
27. Move the driver's window all the way down by using the driver's window DOWN switch.
28. Pull up and hold the driver's window UP switch until the window reaches the fully closed position, then continue to hold the switch for 1 second.
29. Make sure that the power window control unit is reset by using the driver's window AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN functions.
30. Check for water leaks, wind noise, and rattles. Then make sure the power door locks, the window, and the power mirror operate properly.
