Roof Molding Is Loose
SYMPTOM
One or both roof moldings are loose or missing.
PROBABLE CAUSE
In high winds, the roof molding may lift in the middle,
allowing either its front or rear retention clip to come
loose.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Apply Konishi Bond adhesive to the front and rear
retaining pins on the body. If a roof molding is
damaged or missing, replace it.
NOTE:
Always use Konishi Bond adhesive when installing roof moldings.

Right Side Roof Molding: P/N 74306-TF0-003
REQUIRED MATERIALS
Konishi Bond: P/N 08713-0008
(one tube will repair six vehicles)

NOTE:
Submit the Konishi Bond under the Materials Information section, not the Parts Information section. Since one tube repairs six vehicles, each repair represents 1/6 of the dealer net cost of the tube.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Apply protective tape to the body.
2. Using the appropriate trim tool, pull up and slide the roof molding rearward to release the front bracket from the pin on the body.
3. Inspect the front bracket.
^ If the bracket comes off the roof molding or the molding is damaged, the molding must be replaced. Go to step 7 to install a new molding
^ If the bracket is OK, go to step 4.
4. Pull up the front portion of the molding.
5. At the rear of the molding, pull up and release the rear bracket from the pin.
6. Inspect the rear bracket.
If the bracket comes off the roof molding or the molding is damaged, the molding must be replaced. Do steps 7 thru 9 using a new molding. If the bracket is OK, go to step 7 to reinstall the molding.
7. Clean the front and rear pins on the body, and the front and rear portion of the roof molding using a shop towel dampened in water.
NOTE:
Do not use any chemical cleaner as it may damage the paint.
8. Apply a 50 mm bead of Konishi Bond to the front and rear pins as shown until the pins on the body are completely covered.
9. Reinstall the roof molding immediately after applying the Konishi Bond.
NOTE:
The Konishi Bond adhesive can skin within seconds of exposure to air. Apply the roof molding immediately after applying the adhesive to ensure proper adhesion.
10. Repeat steps 1 thru 9 for the other roof molding, if needed.
