Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Take care not to scratch the body or related parts.

- Take care not to kink the cable.

1. Remove these items:
- Inner fender Inner Fender Replacement

- Kick panel Service and Repair

- Front bumper, '00-03 models, '04-09 models (except CR model), Front Bumper Removal/Installation (Except CR model) CR model Front Bumper Removal/Installation (CR model)

- Air guide plate cover Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) and hood release handle (C). Hood Release Handle Replacement

3. Detach the clips (D, E) with a clip remover, and remove the grommet (F) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable. Take care not to kink the cable.

4. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

- Push the clips into place securely.

- Route the cable through the hole (G) in the body.
