Center Carpet Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.

- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.

- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning the work.

1. Remove these items, then remove the center carpet as shown:
- Dashboard Dashboard Removal/Installation

- Rear console Rear Console Removal/Installation

- The harness clips securing the SRS wire harness and the steering hanger beam wire harness.

- Cut the carpet in the areas shown.

2. Install the center carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the SRS wire harness and the steering hanger beam wire harness are routed correctly, and clipped into place.

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

- Push the clips into place securely.

- Refasten the cut areas with wire ties.
