Diagnostic Procedure:

1. Check the engine oil level.

2. '06-09 models: Do the gauge assembly self-diagnostic function. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

3. Test the oil pressure switch. Testing and Inspection

4. Check the engine oil pressure. Testing and Inspection

5. Check the oil filter for clogging.

6. Check the oil screen for clogging.

7. Check the relief valve.

8. Check the oil pump. Service and Repair

Also check for:

- A wire shorted to ground between the gauge assembly and the oil pressure switch
