Horn Switch: Testing and Inspection

Horn Switch Test

1. Remove the steering column upper and lower covers. Service and Repair

2. Disconnect the dashboard wire harness B 4P connector (A) from the cable reel (B).






3. Check for continuity between cable reel terminal No. 2 and body ground in each switch position according to the table.
- If there is continuity, the horn switch is OK.

- If there is no continuity, go to step 4.

4. Remove the driver's airbag. Drivers Airbag Replacement






5. Check for continuity between cable reel terminal No. 2 (A) and the horn switch positive terminal (B).
- If there is no continuity, replace the cable reel, '00-05 models; Service and Repair '06-09 models Service and Repair and check for proper operation.

- If there is continuity, replace the horn switch.
