Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 1306

DTC 1306:

Vehicle Speed Pulse

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when there is a problem with the vehicle speed pulse (VSP).
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

1. Check the MIL on the gauge control module Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

Is the MIL on?

YES -

Go to the PGM-FI system's General Troubleshooting Information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

NO -

Go to step 2.

2. Clear the hard error code.

3. Test-drive the vehicle several minutes.

4. Check for the hard error code.

Is DTC 1306 indicated?

YES -

Update the ECM/PCM ECM/PCM Update if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
