The sub-display HFL messages do not go away after pressing the HFL BACK button

NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Check for HFL DTCs with the HDS.

Are there any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot the indicated DTCs.

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Turn the ignition to LOCK (0).

5. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and recheck the audio-HVAC subdisplay or the audio-HVAC display.

Are the messages cleared?

YES -

Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Replace the audio unit:

- With navigation Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation).
- Without navigation Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).
