Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Replacement (A/T)




Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Replacement

1. Remove the nut securing the under-hood fuse/relay box, and swing it out of the way.

2. Remove the intake air duct and the air cleaner housing Service and Repair.

3. With ATF warmer: Remove the bolts (A) securing the ATF warmer (B), and move it out of the way.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the pipes and fin part of the ATF warmer when moving it.






4. Disconnect the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor connector, and remove the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor (A).





5. Install a new O-ring (B) on the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor, then install the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor with the speed sensor washer (C) in the transmission housing.

6. Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary, then connect the connector securely.

7. With ATF warmer: Install the ATF warmer.

8. Install the intake air duct and the air cleaner housing Service and Repair.

9. Install the under-hood fuse/relay box.
