CKP Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Vehicle Lift

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. Front Engine Under Cover Plate





1. Remove the front engine under cover plate (A).

3. CKP Sensor





1. Loosen the CKP sensor cover top bolt (A).

2. Remove the CKP sensor cover lower bolt (B), then slide cover down to remove it.

3. Disconnect the connector.

4. Remove the CKP sensor (D).

Installation

1. CKP Sensor





1. Install the CKP sensor (A) with a new O-ring (B).

2. Connect the connector.

3. Slide the CKP sensor cover (C) underneath the top bolt (D).

4. Install the lower cover bolt (E), then tighten the upper bolt.

2. Front Engine Under Cover Plate





1. Install the front engine under cover plate (A).

3. HDS DLC - Connection





1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle. If it does not communicate, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting.

4. CKP Pattern Clear/CKP Pattern Learn

1. Select CRANK PATTERN in the ADJUSTMENT MENU with the HDS.

2. Select CRANK PATTERN CLEAR, and clear the CKP pattern.

3. Select CRANK PATTERN LEARNING with the HDS, and follow the screen prompts.
