Key Interlock Solenoid Test

Removal

1. Upper Column Cover





1. Remove the upper column cover (A).

2. Lower Column Cover





1. Remove the screws (A).





2. Remove the lower column cover (A).

Test

1. Key Interlock Solenoid - Test





1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Turn the ignition key to ACCESSORY (I).

3. Connect power to steering lock connector terminal No. 1, and ground to steering lock connector terminal No. 4. Check that the ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK (0). Disconnect power and check that the key can be turned to the LOCK (0) position and removed from the cylinder.

4. If the key interlock solenoid works improperly, faulty key interlock solenoid; replace the steering lock.

5. Connect the connector.

2. Install the screws (A).

2. Upper Column Cover





1. Install the upper column cover (A).
