Moonroof Sunshade Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Moonroof Link Cover Both





1. Remove the lid (A).

2. Remove the moonroof link cover (B).

3. Repeat on the opposite side.

2. Moonroof Glass





1. Remove the bolts (A).

2. Repeat on the opposite side.





3. Remove the moonroof glass (A).

3. Drain Channel





1. Tilt up the glass bracket (A).

2. Disconnect the drain channel rods (B).





3. Slide the drain channel (A) forward.





4. Remove the drain channel (A).

4. Moonroof Sunshade





1. Remove both moonroof sunshade slider spacers (A).





2. Remove both moonroof sunshade rear hooks (A).





3. Remove the moonroof sunshade (A).





4. Remove both front moonroof sunshade base sliders (A) and both rear moonroof sunshade base sliders (B).

5. Sunshade Handle





1. If necessary, remove the sunshade handle (A).

Installation

1. Sunshade Handle





1. If necessary, install the sunshade handle (A).

2. Moonroof Sunshade





1. Install both front moonroof sunshade base sliders (A) and both rear moonroof sunshade base sliders (B).





2. Install the moonroof sunshade (A).





3. Install both moonroof sunshade rear hooks (A).





4. Install both moonroof sunshade slider spacers (A).

3. Drain Channel





1. Install the drain channel (A).





2. Slide the drain channel (A) rearward.





3. Connect the drain channel rods (A).

4. Tilt down the glass bracket (B).

4. Moonroof Glass





1. Install the moonroof glass (A).





2. Install the bolts.

3. Repeat on the opposite side.

5. Moonroof Glass - Position Check




Check the roof panel (A) should be even with the glass weatherstrip (B), to within 0.1+1/-1 mm (0.004+0.04/-0.04 in) all the way around.

6. Moonroof Glass - Position Adjustment





1. Adjust the moonroof glass (A) position.

2. If necessary, repeat on the opposite side.

7. Moonroof Link Cover Both





1. Install the moonroof link cover (A).

2. Install the lid (B).

3. Repeat on the opposite side.

8. Moonroof Control Unit - Reset

Resetting the moonroof is required when any of the following have occurred:
* The moonroof was moved manually while the battery was dead or disconnected.
* The moonroof motor was replaced with a new one.
* Any of components related to the moonroof were replaced.

- Wind deflector
- Moonroof glass
- Moonroof glass bracket
- Moonroof cables, etc.

To reset the moonroof control unit, do these steps:

1. Close the driver's door, and keep it closed until the procedure is complete.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

3. Press and hold the tilt switch, and turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

4. Release the tilt switch, and turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 four more times.

6. Press and hold the moonroof open switch for at least 3 additional seconds after the moonroof is fully opened.

7. Press and hold the moonroof close switch for at least 3 additional seconds after the moonroof is fully closed (tilted).

8. Confirm that the moonroof control unit is reset by using the moonroof AUTO OPEN and AUTO CLOSE function.
