Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Error code: XM ANTENNA or XM LOADING is displayed

Error code: XM ANTENNA or XM LOADING is displayed

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Check XM radio reception in an open area. Poor reception/interference can be caused by tall buildings, mountains, or high-voltage power lines.

1. Park vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Do the XM Self-Diagnosis.

Are there XM error codes displayed?

YES -

Refer to the Error Code solution listed in the table. If ERROR 14 or ERROR 24 is displayed, go to step 4.

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Check the connection at XM receiver connectors A (14P) and B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Reconnect the connector, and recheck. If the error message does not go away, go to step 6.

6. Check the connection at the AM/FM/XM antenna 2P connector.

Is the connector connected?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Reconnect the connector, and recheck. If the error message does not go away, go to step 7.

7. Check the pin locations in XM receiver connectors A (14P), B (2P), and the AM/FM/XM antenna 2P connector.

Are the pins in the correct locations?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Correct the pin locations, and recheck. If the error message does not go away, go to step 8.

8. Substitute a known-good AM/FM/XM antenna [1][2]Antenna, Radio, and recheck.

Is the error message gone?

YES -

Replace the original AM/FM/XM antenna [1][2]Antenna, Radio.

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Substitute a known-good XM receiver XM Receiver Removal / Installation, and recheck.

Is the error message gone?

YES -

Replace the original XM receiver XM Receiver Removal / Installation.

NO -

Replace the XM antenna lead.
