Fuel Fill Door Adapter Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body.

1. Remove these items:

- Left rear wheel
- Fuel pipe protector Fuel Pipe Protector Replacement

2. Remove the fuel cap (A) by turning it counterclockwise, and remove the fuel cap wire (B) from the hinge arm (C). Remove the screw.






3. Remove the bolts, and lower the fuel filler pipe (A).






4. From inside the wheelhouse, carefully push up the adapter lip (A) around the fuel filler pipe (B), and release the hooks (C) from the edge of the body hole by hand.






5. Remove the fuel fill door adapter (A) from the body.






6. If necessary, release the hooks (A), then remove the fuel fill door push lifter (B) from the fuel fill door adapter (C).






7. If necessary, remove the grommet (A) from the body.

1. Remove the rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal / Installation - Rear Side Area.

2. From cargo compartment, release the hooks (B).

3. Pull out the grommet from the rod (C) of the fuel fill door actuator.





8. Install the adapter in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Apply multipurpose grease to the rod sliding area inside the grommet (A).
- Install the grommet by pushing on the hook areas until the hooks snap into place.
- Make sure the adapter lip (B) is fully seated on the fuel filler pipe (C).
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the fuel filler pipe mounting bolts before reinstallation.
