Power Mirror Actuator Replacement

Removal

1. Remove these items:

- Mirror holder Mirror Holder Replacement
- Power mirror Power Mirror Replacement

2. Disconnect the power mirror 6P (or 13P)* connector from the power mirror.

*: With Driving Position Memory System (DPMS)

3. Cut the mirror actuator wires with a wire cutter.






4. Remove the gasket (A), then remove the two screws and retainer clip (B) from the mirror (C).






5. Remove the cover (A).





6. Remove the three screws, and separate the housing (B) from the bracket (C).

7. Remove the three screws (A) and actuator housing (B) from the housing (C).





8. Remove the four screws (D) and the actuator (E) from the actuator housing.

Installation

9. Install the new actuator to the housing in the reverse order of step 7.

10. Route the wire harness of a new actuator through the hole in the bracket (A).





11. Reassemble the mirror in the reverse order of removal. Apply LOCTITE to the three screws (B) and tighten to 4.4 Nm (0.45 kg-m, 3.2 lb-ft).

12. Route the wire harness (A) of the new actuator through the hole in the retainer clip (B) and the gasket (C).






13. Insert the mirror actuator wires into their original terminal locations.

With DPMS





Without DPMS





14. Apply cushion tape (A) to seal the wire harness.





15. Install the retainer clip and gasket in the reverse order of removal.

16. Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly. Be careful not to break the mirror holder when reinstalling it to the actuator Mirror Holder Replacement.

17. Reinstall the mirror assembly on the door.

18. Operate the power mirror to make sure it works smoothly.
