Moonroof Frame and Drain Tube Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and the precautions and procedures Service Precautions before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the seat, the interior trim, the body, or the other related parts.

1. Remove the headliner Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the front drain tubes (A) and the rear drain tubes (B).






3. Disconnect the motor connector (A) and the electrical compass unit connector (B), and detach the harness clips (C).






4. With an assistant holding the frame (A), remove the bolts starting at the rear, and release the rear hooks (B) by moving the frame forward.





5. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the frame through the tailgate opening.

Front Drain Tube Replacement

6. Remove the front drain tube (A).

1. Detach the clip (B) securing the drain tube.

2. Pull out the front drain valve (C) from the body hole.

3. Tie a string to the top end of the drain tube, and pull down the drain tube out of the A-pillar.

NOTE: Leave the string in the A-pillar to use when reinstalling the drain tube.






Rear Drain Tube Replacement

7. Remove the rear drain tube (A).

1. Detach the clips (B) securing the drain tube.

2. Pull out the rear drain valve (C) from the body hole.










8. Install the frame and the drain tube in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Before installing the frame, clear the drain tubes and the drain valves using compressed air.
- To install a new drain tube, tie the string that was left in the A-pillar to the top end of the drain tube, and pull it up into the roof.
- Clean the surface of the frame.
- When installing the frame, first attach the rear hooks into the body holes.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- When connecting the drain tubes, slide them over the frame nozzles at least 10 mm (0.39 in).
- Install the tube clips (A) on the drain tubes (B) as shown.
- After all parts are installed, including the headliner, reset the sunroof control unit Testing and Inspection.
- Do the glass position adjustment Adjustments.
