Air Spring Folding Procedure

AIR SPRING FOLDING PROCEDURE

NOTE: Certain situations will require the technician to manually collapse the air spring in order to ensure proper inflation/deflation functionality. Utilize the following procedure to properly collapse the air spring.

1. Remove the air spring from the vehicle.
2. Set the spring on a level surface with the support side of the spring facing downward.
3. The atmospheric pressure will equalize allowing the diaphragm to regain it's original form.

4. Hold your thumb over the air inlet fitting.
5. Grasp the center of the diaphragm and squeeze.

6. Apply firm downward pressure to the top of the spring until the diaphragm starts to fold over the support end of the spring.

7. While continuing to apply downward pressure, remove your thumb to relieve the air pressure and fold the spring until it bottoms on the support.
8. Install the spring into the vehicle.
