Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) may inhibit the Traction Control System (TCS) if a failure occurs with the locking differential or the transfer case.

Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
^ The transfer case selected range has been reported as invalid by the transmission control module (TCM).
^ The rear differential status has been reported as locked by the TCM when the vehicle speed is greater than 50 km/h (31 mph) for 10 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
^ The EBCM disables the TCS and Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) for the duration of the ignition cycle.
^ The driver information center (DIC) displays the SERVICE TRACTION message.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
^ The condition for the DTC is no longer present.
^ Using a scan tool, clear the DTC function.

Inspect tires for improper air pressure or improper size.
