Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Position a drain pan under the vehicle.
Important: When pipes/hoses are disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components during service. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.
2. Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose from the brake booster. Discard the O-ring seal.
3. Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seal.
4. Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Using a new O-ring seal, connect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends Notice.
3. Using a new O-ring seal, connect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose to the brake booster.
Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
4. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
5. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
